kaitlyn and i put our hearts and souls into these photos!

When Kaitlyn sent me the inquiry saying she wanted to do her grad photos with me, she mentioned wanting to take photos with a vintage and dreamy moon prop. I had to reread the inquiry about 3 times to make sure I wasn't dreaming because this was a concept I've had on my list of photoshoot ideas for over 2 years! We got right to work with planning these photos from there and wanted to incorporate guitar, water, and of course the moon in the photos and if I do say so myself I think we knocked it out of the park.

We planned these photos relatively quickly since it was close to graduation and she wanted to have the photos prior to that so I told her I'd come over and help paint the moon with her and luckily her dad is handy and was able to help us cut out the moon shape from a board of wood because that meant we didn't have to risk our lives trying to figure out how to use a circle saw! We spent a few hours in her front yard painting and listening to music until it got dark and the very next day we took these photos! If I had to choose a certain type of photoshoot to be my favorite it would be creative photoshoots because I feel like it's when my brain can really start entering the creative flow of photography.

I like to think of myself as an artist who happened to choose photography as my medium and I am grateful every day to be able to pursue my passion as my career!
