The vintage senior portraits you've been dreaming of...
Wearing a tweed suit in the middle of a hot Florida summer day may seem less than ideal but these photos definitely made it worth it. Tanner is a local jazz musician who plays the saxophone so when we were discussing what these photos would be like, I wanted lean into the vintage look. I sent over an inspo board on Pinterest of retro, 60’s-70’s outfits and the thrift stores did not disappoint. We spent an evening strolling through downtown Vero Beach and snapped all of these photos within a few blocks of each other.
One of my favorite parts of downtown photoshoots is the variety of colors in the buildings and the lack of palm trees. Honestly, downtown is one of the few places that can make Vero feel a bit less like a beach town and more like a small city. Towards the end of the session, Tanner was playing his saxophone in the middle of 14th avenue in front of the Historic Vero Beach Theatre which turned some heads. Being able to capture his talent and who he was during his senior year in such an authentic way was so rewarding.
