be groovy or leave, man

Do you ever meet a couple and immediately realize how perfect they are for each other?

That’s how I felt when I met Tessa and Colin. They love everything vintage and 70’s so we had an intimate picnic engagement session right in their backyard while listening to a playlist that Tessa has been building for years (and yes, she was gracious enough to share it to me and I listen to it on repeat). We clicked instantly and had such a fun, laid back, low stress time. Also, Tessa made a home-made pineapple upside down cake and let me tell you, my mouth is watering as I’m reminiscing on how delicious it was!

As it reached golden hour, we ended the session with a walk on the beach. I always aim to incorporate poses that allow my couple’s true, authentic selves to shine through the camera. It can be awkward and intimidating to have photos taken, especially by someone you haven’t known very long, but I have been told by almost everyone I work with that they can’t believe how easy the session was and that an hour and a half had already passed by.
