BRING IT ON HOME JOHN B!
This photoshoot was almost as chaotic as the show is itself. We had so much fun running around and taking these photos. Jolie and Noelle were the perfect models for this session and we took them right after I binge watched the first three seasons of OBX. Speaking of, when is season 4 coming out?
We went to the Vero Beach Marina for a few of the photos and asked a couple if we could use their boat for a few minutes in some of the photos, which they were nice enough to agree to. I also wanted a few shots of them running away from the camera (since, as you know if you’ve watched this show, 80% of the scenes are of the gang running from someone or something). I warned them to be cautious not to trip on a part of the grass that dipped down and…well, can you see where this is going? Yup. On the first attempt I was the one who wiped out and injured my wrist, causing me to have to get an X-Ray, MRI, and then take a few months to rest and wear a brace. I say the photos were absolutely worth it though! To see the video montage I made from this session on instagram, click here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsRZRekgiLE/?igshid=MWZjMTM2ODFkZg==
Once it came time to edit the photos, I challenged myself to match the color grading in the show and give it more of a warm, vibrant, moody edge than I typically edit with. Editing the photos side by side with stills from season 2 of OBX, this is the result:
